Claudia F. Sohre, age 79, of Good Thunder, went to be with her heavenly father on April 29, 2025, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska.
A private family graveside service will be held at 11am, May 9, 2025, at Decoria Cemetery.
Claudia was born March 19, 1946, in Mankato to Claude A. and Sophia O. (Gilbertson) Ziegler. She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan, MN. She graduated from Rapidan High School on May 29, 1964. Claudia was united in marriage to Marvin Leroy Franz at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan, MN. Marvin passed away on August 14, 1966. Claudia graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. On April 19, 1968, Claudia and Royce E. Sohre were joined together in marriage at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Decoria Township, MN. She worked in Mankato for 20 years at Wells Fargo Bank (formerly Norwest Bank). Claudia’s greatest joys were spending time with her family and trips on the Harley Davidson in the US, Canada, and Alaska. She loved spending winters in Arizona, flower gardening, crafting, scrapbooking, and card making.
Claudia’s memory lives on through her son, Russell (Cathy) Sohre; grandchildren, Matthew (Carly), Mason, Sara, Molli, Sidney, Hunter, McKenzie, Brittany, and Desiree; and seven great-grandchildren, Lidia, Kloee, Emoree, Maverick, Emma, Kennedy, and Peter; siblings, Marlene Herbranson, Gene (Vivian) Ziegler, Sandra (Richard) Daniels, Darrell (Dianne) Ziegler, and Dale (Cindy) Ziegler; in-laws, Dennis (Myra) Sohre, David (Mary Sue) Sohre, Gary (Jackie) Sohre, and Donald (Laurinda) Sohre; as well as her best friend in crime, Diane Stack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Sophie Ziegler; husbands, Marvin Franz and Royce Sohre; daughter, Lori O’Neil; sister, Barbara (Ardie) Schweim; and brothers, Charles Burger and Tom Herbranson.
Claudia will always be remembered for her handmade cards and delicious homemade cookies.
