Ms. Clementine Calvin was born on September 13, 1953 in Montgomery, Alabama to Willie and Clemontine Smith. She was the eighth of eight born to this union. Clementine was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan. Our Lord lifted her from this earthly life on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the blessed age of 71.
She worked various jobs throughout her life before eventually transitioning out of the workforce due to health reasons. Ms. Calvin enjoyed hobbies of reading, writing poetry, crafting, shopping and listening to the blues. Clementine also had a heart for service and spent time volunteering at the Saginaw Rescue Mission. She was truly a selfless and loving individual who had a drive for helping those in need and she never met a stranger, she was the epitome of unwavering generosity and passion.
Clementine was a proud and devoted mother, and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. Clementine leaves behind her legacy of one daughter, Tiffany (Antoine) Martin; three granddaughters, Sanaa, Nalayah and Aaliyah Martin all of Saginaw, MI; honorable mention to Debra Jones who was like a little sister to Clementine; special nieces and nephews, Kenny and Tracy Vaughn, Kameron and Taja Jones, Tory Smith, Darren Hooper, Wilamenia Smith and Valarie Taylor as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends including special friend, Eloise Palmore.
Ms. Clementine Calvin was preceded in death by her parents, Willie, Sr. and Clemontine Smith; siblings, Willie Smith, Jr., Alfreda Hooper, Minnie Vaughn, Velma Lewis, Otis Smith and James Smith and brother-in-law, Lonnie Lewis.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Minister Sandra Crosby will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
