Cleo Huntley, age 93, of Rutherfordton, NC, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.

Ms. Cleo was the daughter of the late Charlie and Doma Harper Owenby and a native of the Fairview Community of Buncombe County North Carolina. Cleo was a graduate of Fairview High School. She was the widow of the late Reverend Wade H. Huntley who she was married to for 66 years. Cleo was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where she played the piano and taught the Junior Sunday School Class for over 60 years.

Cleo is survived by her loving church family for over 70 years. She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2025 with Reverend Scott Moneyham officiating. Cleo will lie-in-state from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home; 1881 Big Island Road; Rutherfordton, NC 28139. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

I grew up attending Holly Springs Baptist Church and have many pleasant memories of Cleo and her husband Preacher Wade Huntley. So sorry for this loss to the community and the world. She will be missed.
