Dave was a cattle rancher in Farmersville, Texas and previously was an onion broker with the Cave family throughout Texas, Michigan and the U.S. Dave was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dave is survived by his wife of 67 years, Beryle "Billie" Cave, his son David Cave (Becky), his daughters, Julie Cave, Vicki Higgins (Sid), and Coleen Gay (Scott). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jamie Spellerberg (Luke), Ian Higgins (Erin), David Cave III (Emily), Jason Cave, Hannah White (Nathan), Jacob Gay, and his great grandchildren, Lily and Maisie Spellerberg, and Wylder White. There's another Higgins baby on the way.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Juanita Cave, and his brothers Keith and Mike Cave.
A visitation will be held at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Farmersville on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 3:00pm. Dave will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Climax, Texas.
