Clyde Eugene Dunahoo, age 94, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7th at Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. David Chancey officiating.
Mr. Dunahoo was born in Monroe, Georgia on February 7, 1931, to the late James Homer Dunahoo and Gertrude Satterfield Dunahoo. He joined the United States Air Force at the age of 19 and served first as an Evac Medic during the Korean war. He and his family lived in many different locations during his service. Most notable was his time as Master Sergeant with the Fourteen Aerospace Force, Norad, Cheyenne Mountain. He was responsible for tracking the Apollo 9 space mission as well as all man-made objects in space. After his 20 years of service, he retired and worked for the United States Postal Service where he retired with 20 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church since 1970. He was preceded in death by his wife Laura Janet Butler Dunahoo.
Survivors include his daughters Lynn McLachlan (Neil) and Beth Wood (Clay). Four grandchildren Colin McLachlan (Holly), Casey McLachlan, Sarah Whatley (Sajid) and Jeff Wood (Brittney Miller). Sister-in-law Betty Butler Tate (M. D.). Four great grandchildren Harper McLachlan, Laney McLachlan, Sadie McLachlan, and Ellie Whatley.
The family will receive friends following the service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Georgia War Veterans Home or the Wounded Warriors.
