Coleta Mitchell Obituary

Floydada - Coleta (Wright) Mitchell, peacefully passed away on July 17, 2025 at her home in Lubbock surrounded by her family. Family services and private interment at Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada were held under the direction of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Coleta Mitchell was born March 23, 1949 to Charlie and Mary Wright in Floyd County, Texas. Coleta attended Lakeview School until the school closed and she transferred to Floydada. Coleta married Gene Mitchell February 19, 1965 in Cone, Texas. Coleta loved to crochet and play games with her grandson Chipper II. What she enjoyed doing the most was spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Wright and Mary Smith, sisters, Sandra Martin and Elizabeth Sims.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Mitchell, daughter, LaQueta Mitchell, son, Chipper Mitchell and wife Suzi, one grandson, Chipper Mitchell II and wife Jeanette and one great-granddaughter, Paisley Mitchell.
