Colleen Jacoby Obituary

Colleen R. (Barnes) Jacoby, age 69 of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at The Centrica Care Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on Thursday, July 10, 2025. She was born in Kalamazoo on October 21, 1955, the daughter of Delbert Lee and Ida Mae (Barton) Barnes. Colleen graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and continued her education at Argubright Business College. Colleen worked for several years at Battle Creek Equipment and Novo Operations in Battle Creek.

Colleen is survived by her children, Dawn Williams and Scott Williams, both of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, Jada (Kyle) Moore and Callum Williams; her brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Barnes; her sister, Robinette (Billy) Smith; a sister-in-law, Linda Kay Barnes; and several nieces & nephews. She was sadly preceded in death by her husband, Gary Jacoby; her mother, Ida Mae Wyman; brothers, Tommy Barnes, Donnie Barnes; a sister, Ava Barnes; and nephews, Joey Barnes and Jeff Wiseman.

Colleen was always very giving and volunteered for many years at the American Legion Post #298. She enjoyed reading & listening to audio books, going to the beach, gambling, dancing, listening to Motown, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.

A Celebration of Colleen's life will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the American Legion Post #298 228 N. 20th Street, Battle Creek.
