It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Connie Hahn, 78, of Lake St. Louis and formerly of Desloge, who left us on July 5, 2025. Born on September 13, 1946, in Bonne Terre to the late Melvin and Dorothy “Dot” (Murray) Wamble, Connie graced the world with her vibrant spirit and love for life.
A proud graduate of the Class of 1964 from Esther, Connie embraced the role of devoted mother to her three children before following her passion for education. With determination and resilience, she returned to school and earned her master’s degree in education. Connie dedicated her career to teaching, imparting knowledge and inspiring young minds at Becky David Elementary and later at Barnwell Middle School in St. Charles, where she specialized in math and science. Her commitment to education was recognized through her membership in the National Education Association.
Connie’s faith was a guiding light in her life, as she was a longtime member of the Catholic Church, both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dardenne and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Park Hills. After retiring, she was able to spend more time with her husband Kenneth, who truly was the love of her life. They enjoyed spending time at Lake of the Ozarks, making memories on the beaches of Florida, and enjoying many rounds of golf. Her greatest joy, however, was found in the company of her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchild will forever be blessed by the love she gave each of them.
Connie’s warmth and generosity were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had the kindest heart, most giving nature, and selfless spirit. She had a love for traveling and adventure and always saying yes to fun. Connie had a passion for hosting and taking care of family and friends, and a desire to spoil us all and make everyone feel loved. Connie always checked on others first and put herself last. She showed up to support us and made us feel like she was so proud. She will forever inspire those she left behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Hahn; son, Craig Combs; sister, Kim Altland; and brother in-law, John Courtois.
Connie is survived by her two children, Cary Combs and wife Kris, Kendra Fritz and husband Jake; four grandchildren, Karly (Jerett) Rion, Tyler, Lucas and Allison Fritz; great-grandson, Camdyn Rion and a great-granddaughter on the way; siblings, Mike Wamble and wife Nancy and Dee Courtois; brother in-law, Tom Altland and wife Lisa; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a funeral mass held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:30. Reverend Larry Huber will be officiating. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials may be directed in honor of Connie’s memory to the American Heart Association, or the American Lung Association, or the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
