Connie L. Stehly, 78, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD. A visitation with be held from 9:30 am till the Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the American Lutheran Church in Castlewood, SD.
Connie Lenay (Nitteberg) Stehly was born to Clair and Merlyne (Anderson) Nitteberg on January 20, 1947, in Watertown, SD. She grew up on the beautiful Lake Poinsett by Stone Bridge Resort. One day while playing outside her little brother Gale was kidnapped, she was so upset, she went running into the Resort and yelled that they stole Gale, they stole Gale!! Her father Clair without haste got into the car and recovered his son, her brother. She loved her brother dearly.
Connie attended school in Estelline, SD then went to college and obtained a Master's degree in Education. She spent many years working at Minnesota Rubber in Watertown where she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, going asparagus picking and enjoying a cold beer, sharing stories and laughing.
Connie is survived by her children Gayla Kenyon (Casey) and Tori Yonker. Her brother Gale Nitteberg (Sandy). She had 11 grandchildren Joe Greene (Megan), Briana Greene (Chris), Ryan Greene, Andrew Greene, Darren Greene (Sophia), Conner Greene, Nataliah Dean, Jordan Dean, Austen Yonker, Zahra Eisa (Alex), and Erowyn Funge (Cody). Her nieces and nephew Melanie Flegel, Clark Flegel (Dawn), Tanya Flegel (Tev). And 6 great grandchildren.
