Constance Jo "Connie" Johnson, 76, of Spragueville, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, June 30, 2025, at Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.
Born January 7, 1949, in Maquoketa, Connie was the daughter of Harold and Gloria Ann (Budde) McCutcheon. She grew up in Andrew, Iowa, graduated from Preston High School, and earned an associate degree from Clinton Community College. Connie spent 35 years with Caterpillar, retiring as a DBSI Learning Consultant. She also worked as a purchasing manager at S & H Fabricating and PMW.
Connie first married Kenneth L. Snyder, with whom she had two daughters, Kimberly Sue and Diane Lynn. During that time, the family home in rural Spragueville was built-a place she lovingly maintained after marrying Jeffrey "Jeff" Johnson in 1981. Surrounded by gardens and animals, Connie found great joy in rural life. Following retirement, she adjusted from a busy travel schedule to a life centered on home. Her days began with coffee and the Today Show, caring for animals, and tending her gardens. She was an active member of the Andrew Lions Club, Andrew Saddle Club, Caterpillar Retirees Club, and volunteered at Re-Store. Horseback riding with her daughters remained one of her favorite activities.
Connie's greatest joy was being a grandma. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light to her life. She never missed a chance to support, cheer, or love them fully.
Survivors include her husband Jeff; daughters Kimberly (Jon) Elizondo and Diane (fiancé Al Lyons) Miller; stepchildren David (Lynda) Johnson and Lisa (Kim) Johnson; siblings Terese (Jim) Berthel, Karen (John) Gibbs, and Nick (Dee) McCutcheon; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her dog Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers William "Billy," Mark, and Dwaine.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 P.M., Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, with a gathering from 4–6 P.M. in "The Bistro." Burial at St. John's Cemetery, Andrew, will follow at a later date.

Connie will be greatly missed by all. She was a good co-worker at Caterpillar. My deepest sympathy to Jeff and the family.

So sorry for the loss of Connie. She was a very nice lady.
I met her 2 years ago when I got Max, a fox red Lab male.
She enjoyed sharing her love of her raising animals.
