Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hilke-Millard Funeral Home - Westphalia on Apr. 9, 2025.
With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Constance "Connie" Marie Reichart, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by faith and family. Connie was born on June 18, 1939, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Joseph B. and Hedwig C. (Lueckenhoff) Reichart.
Connie lived a life devoted to education, faith, and service. A proud graduate of Helias High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Mount St. Scholastica (Benedictine) College in Atchison, Kansas, and later a Master's in Educational Administration from Northeast Missouri State (Truman State) University. For 27 years, she poured her heart into teaching within the Catholic school systems of the St. Louis Archdiocese and the Jefferson City Diocese, shaping the minds and spirits of countless students. After her retirement from education, Connie brought her talents to the Missouri State Archives for 15 years. Her love of history and education also inspired her to teach history classes through the Learning in Retirement program.
Connie had a curious and adventurous spirit. She enjoyed researching her family genealogy, carefully tracing the roots and stories that shaped her heritage. She also found great joy in traveling, exploring new places, visiting historic sites, and meeting new people along the way.
Her deep Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church in Westphalia, Connie served joyfully as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and song leader. Even in retirement, she remained a beacon of wisdom and warmth in the community. Connie was a vibrant part of many organizations, especially the Westphalia Historical Society. Whether she was sharing stories from the past, leading worship in song, or offering a kind word to a neighbor, Connie gave her all-quietly, generously, and with deep purpose.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her siblings Karen Reichart, Joseph Reichart, Rose Huber, Susan Reichart, James Reichart, and Frank Reichart, as well as brother-in-law James Huber.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, cherished by her sister Barbara Reichart, sisters-in-law Sandra Reichart and Pat Reichart, and a large extended family, including nephews: Joseph Reichart, Christopher (Tammy) Reichart, Michael (Stephanie) Reichart, Paul (Samantha) Reichart, Thomas (Lindsey) Reichart, Gregory (Greg) Reichart, Robert (Megan) Reichart, Ronald Huber, John (Lori) Huber, Jason (Yvette) Reichart; nieces: Cathy (Ralph) Wilde, Mary Reichart, and Julie Huber; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, treasured friends, and her beloved church family.
Connie's memory will live on in the students she taught, the hymns she led, the prayers she offered, and the lives she touched with her gentle strength and unwavering faith.
