Curtis Andrew Porter age 69 of Marion, IL was born on Sunday, October 30, 1955 in Metropolis, IL to the late George and Annie Porter. He departed from this life on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Metropolis Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, IL.
Curtis was a CNA for a group home were he helped with people with disabilities for many years until his health began to decline, so he later retired. He was a true motivational speaker and evangelist ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ and leading others to salvation. His favorite saying was "God can help all things, as long as you just believe." Curtis enjoyed listening to Marvin Sapp, cooking, sewing and nurturing his plants.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents; George and Annie Porter, his brothers; Lonnie Porter and Jesse Porter, his sisters; Nothala Goobsy, Georgia Davis, Martha Porter, and Marva Peques.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memories his daughter; Cassandra Detienne, his son; William Porter, his brothers; Brain (Pam) Porter, Macus (Pamela) Porter, his sisters; Sharon (Lonnie) Weathersby and Quilla Porter, his grandchildren; Elijah (Kortny) Porter, Olivia Detienne, Jasmine Porter, Aider Porter and Breanna (Peter) Schuler, his great-grandchildren; Archie and Francesca Schulent, special friends; Sherry Mandrell and Marshell Harrington and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
