Deacon Dale Trent Baity, 69, of Palmetto, Florida, transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He was born in Bradenton, Florida to Lilton Bryant, Sr. and Sarah Baity Gibbs. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Kay Gibbs, and his dog, "Blue."
Dale was educated in the Manatee County School System and graduated from Manatee High School. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a professional truck driver for many years, with his latter years of employment with C. R. England Trucking.
He was a member of First Community Church, Palmetto, Florida, where he served faithfully until the very end. He was ordained as a Deacon, along with five other men, on Sunday, June 15, 2025 (Father's Day).
He was a "Blessed" Man!! A "Faithful" Servant of God!! He loved his family, and his family loved him. He loved to travel, eat, and was well known for his sharp dressing! So much so that his younger family members nicknamed him, "Uncle Dap"-because of his love for fashion and style. Deacon Baity loved his church and his family.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: His loving wife, Janice; daughter, Machelle Summers; son, Alfred Gaskin, Jr.; brothers, Theodore Gibbs and Lilton Bryant, Jr.; sisters, Trudy Gibbs, Barbara Bryant, and Amelia Bryant; grandchildren & great-grands, Jumar Gaskin, Harold Summers, Anthony Summers, Kayla Summers, Kai Gaskin, Zya Gaskin, Paisleigh Summers, and Hayzen Summers; aunts, Mother Annie Gore, Marie Beard, Gloria (William) Bell, Gwen Taylor, and Ruth Johnson; uncles, Clarence Love, Sr. and Glenn Williamson; sisters-in-law, Jackie Johnson, Estelle (Danny) Sailes; brothers-in-law, Freddrick (Gwendolyn) Williams, Reverend Timothy (Brenda) Dixon; special friends, Jasper "Merk" Green, Harry Peterson, Robert Kelly, and George Perry; and a host of other sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
