Dale MacQueen Folger,95, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away at the Grapevine Medical Lodge in Grapevine, TX, on July 12, 2025
Dale Folger was born July 1, 1930 at Fargo, ND, the son of Francis Virgil and Irene Francis (Ritteman) Folger. He was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN. He graduated with the Hawley High School class of 1948. Dale attended Moorhead State Teacher's College in Moorhead, MN and the University of North Dakota, where he earned his Master's Degree in Education.
From 1949-1955, Dale served his country with the United States Navy for 6 years as a Physician Assistant, was honorably discharged and awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
On November 26, 1952, Dale was united in marriage to Arleen Forseth at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. He taught school in Sisseton, SD, Herman, MN and moved to Thief River Falls, MN in 1956, where he taught math at Lincoln High School and later taught Physical Education and managed the pool at Franklin Middle School. He also taught Orientation and Mobility of the Blind.
Dale was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, life member of the American Legion Ecklund-Holmstrom Post #117, Elks Club, Thief River Falls and Fourtown Grygla Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed gardening, singing, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter Tammy Folger-Sutter, Vicksburg, MS; daughter-in-law Becky; 3 grandchildren, Kayla Keenan (Patrick), Amanda, and Brayden (Rosemary); two great grandchildren, Landry and Reagan; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Arleen; son, Joel; daughter, Suzanne; parents; son-in-law, Wayne Sutter; siblings, William Folger, Francis Felber, Keith Folger, Kathleen Christianson, and Carol Ward;.
Internment in Hawley will follow at a later date.
