Dale Kaatz Obituary

Dale Kaatz, 72, of Sheldon, ND passed away June 18, 2025 at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Dale R. Kaatz was born in Fargo, November 10, 1952 to Orville and Lucille (Olson) Kaatz. He grew up on a farm near Anselm. After graduating from Sheldon High School, he attended State School of Science at Wahpeton specializing in auto body and small engine repair. He then worked at various places in Montana and Wyoming where he enjoyed the "Western Skies," rendezvous and black powder events with his friends. He was a Montana state champion in muzzle loading off hand bench competition.
After many years enjoying the West, he returned home to live on the family farm and to work at Scheels in Fargo for over 20 years. Dale was a giver, never a taker. His greatest joy came in sharing and caring for everyone and everything. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and wildlife, woodworking, gardening, visiting and mowing the lawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kay Berg, Walcott. He leaves a sister, Janet Orn of Lisbon and brother, Gary Kaatz of West Fargo, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dale was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Anselm Trinity Lutheran Church rural Sheldon. Burial will be at the Sheldon Cemetery. Dale's service will be live streamed below. Memorials are preferred to the Anselm Lutheran Church.
