Dale K. Walker, 86 of Liberty passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was born on November 3, 1939 in Fayette County to Wilbur Walker and Mary Sheplar Walker.
Dale graduated from Short High In 1957.
He married Sue Elaine Gruell on June 9, 1978. They were able to spend 36 years together before she passed away on December 23, 2014.
Dale was a devoted member of Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church.
Dale worked for Union County Co-Op for 45 years before retiring at the age of 65. He was a supporter of the Union County 4H program and would look forward to purchasing an animal from a 4H member at the end of the Union County 4H Fair.
Dale found great joy in the going on trail rides with his horses and mules and camping in the RV. He was a proud and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, who rarely missed a chance to cheer from the sidelines. Whether it was a ballgame or a school event, his family could always count on him to be there. He also had a love for bluegrass music. He will be missed by his family and friends, but his love and memories will live on through the stories shared.
Dale is survived by his children, Melissa (Jeff) Moles and Kenneth (Jennifer) Walker; his step children, Paula (Steve) Drew and Jason Parker; his 7 grandchildren, Jared (Alisha) Moles, Miranda (Doug) Gardner, Keaton (Katherine) Walker, Kellen Walker, Kylie (Clayton) Stacey, Dustin (Bekah) Drew, and Holly (Joshua) Bachman; 7 great grandchildren, Parker, Clark, Grey, Greer, Margaret Cullen, Dean and Lillian; a sister in law, Reba Walker; his special friends, Patricia Gentry, Frank and Kay Parks, Eleanor Coffman and Tim and Sherry Wooley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; brothers, Richard Walker and Norman Walker; and a sister, Bonnie Shephard.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Charlie Black of Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Springersville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church's Benevolence Fund in honor of Dale. Those can be made at the funeral home or sent to 4 W. Seminary St.,
