Dallas Clayton Bales, 79, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born September 17, 1945 in Chillicothe to the late Dallas Bales Sr. and Nellie Bonner Bales. On April 15, 1989 he was united in marriage to Yvonne Sue Bales who preceded him in death on September 18, 2019. Surviving are his children, Scott (Dondi) Bales of Washington Court House, Ohio and Kim McGraw of Grayson, Kentucky; step-children, Robert (Marcia) Dyke of Waverly, Jamie Dyke of Waverly and Angela (Tony) Brewster of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Adam Richardson, Violet Stuckey and Karen Stuckey, Dallas Bales and Marty Bales; a great-grandchild, Christian Smith; and a brother, Tom Bales. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Brianna Richardson.
Dallas proudly served our country in the United States Army and was retired from the VA Medical Center and a retired janitor for Waverly City Schools.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Bridge Street. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
