Rev. Dan Robinson, age 93, of Lenox, Georgia, passed away on June 23, 2025, at Southwell Health and Rehabilitation Center in Adel, Georgia. He was born in Lenox on January 1, 1932, and was the son of the late Joseph Leonard "J.L." Robinson and the late Mattie Lou Lane Robinson. Rev. Robinson lived all of his life in Cook County where was a member of Lenox United Methodist Church and was a retired contractor, gospel minister and farmer. He also served formerly as the mayor of Lenox and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Rev. Robinson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Gina Robinson of Lenox; three grandchildren and spouses: Jake and Leah Robinson of Lenox, Brooks and Jessica Robinson of Tennessee, and Chris and Misty Robinson of Ochlocknee, Georgia; Beau Robinson of Lenox, Brady Robinson of Lenox, Joseph Robinson of Adel, Aaron Robinson of Lenox, Jeb Robinson of Tennessee, Ryleigh Beth Robinson of Valdosta, and Ashton Robinson of Ochlocknee. In addition to his parents, Rev. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorris Roberts Robinson; one son, Cliff Robinson; and two brothers, Frederick Robinson and Phillip Robinson.
Funeral services for Rev. Robinson will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025 Oaky Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Hendley and Rev. Lester Burkes officiating and eulogies being provided by Mr. Chris Robinson and Mr. Brooks Robinson. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Jake Robinson, Chris Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Aaron Robinson and Shane Daughtrey will serve as pallbearers. Emily Ireland will sing "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" at the funeral. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
