Daniel Bach of Tucson, Arizona, Passed away on June 19, 2025. He was born August 14, 1944 in Calhoun County, Illinois to Henry and Virginia Bach. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister, Sue Bach. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Diane Bach; daughter, Christine (Bill) Martz; son, Dan (Lisa) Bach; and three grandchildren Ryan, Madison and Brandon Martz; his brother Jim (Becky) Bach; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dan attended the University of Arizona where he received both a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Horticulture in 1966. He received his degree with the highest distinction and with honors. He graduated in the top 3% of his class and received an assistantship to do research while working on his master's degree.
During his long agriculture career he worked for Bud Antle, planting the pecan trees in Picacho Peak and developing "trickle" (drip) irrigation. Dan and his wife, Diane, founded Bach's Cactus Nursery in 1969. He shared his passion for cactus and plants for over 54 years with customers and friends alike. Dan was proud to be a part of an amazing group of cactus farmers and innovators. He was an avid collector, and had put together an impressive collection of plants, fossils and petrified wood over his lifetime. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
