Daniel Thomas Bossert, 76, of Hancock Maine passed away Friday, June 20th, 2025. The son of Frank Lathrup Bossert and Virginia Roberts Bossert Sharp, Dan is survived by his loving family, notably his wife Diane Elizabeth Bossert (née Frazier), children Gregory Bossert and Melanie Mourino, Grandchildren Talan and Miley Bossert, and Jack and Shane Mourino, nephew Doug Bossert, and many cousins.
Dan was born in Bangor Maine and spent his early years living in various US states and some time in France as his father Frank was a member of the US Air Force. After Frank's passing, Dan settled with his Mother Virginia and Brother Frank Douglas (Doug) in Mantua, NJ. Dan met his lifelong love Diane Frazier at Clearview Regional High School. Dan and Diane Married in 1970 and settled nearby in Mullica Hill, NJ.
Dan graduated from Drexel University in 1971, where he studied Accounting. He went to work immediately for Bowman & Company, acquired many certifications including a CPA and CMA, quickly becoming a Partner. Dan formed many deep friendships with his business partners and clients at Bowman & Company.
Dan and Diane retired in Hancock Point Maine, where his family has deep connections. They built their dream home just down the shore from Dan's childhood vacation camp house near Carter's Beach. Dan spent his remaining years living here, enjoying many sunsets, Corvette rides with Diane, caring for the family camps, playing poker with friends, and boat rides with his kids and grandkids. Dan was the Treasurer and a founding member of the Acadia Region Corvette Club. He contributed to the community through positions on the Town of Hancock Planning & Select boards.
The family of Dan Bossert would like to thank all of those who have been great friends to Dan over his life. We extend particular thanks to his family, friends and neighbors who provided incredible love, support, and care in his last few years. We will miss Dan dearly, he was the foundation of our family. We will move forward with the comfort of fond memories.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date, yet to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Dan Bossert to the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department at P.O. Box 101 Hancock,ME 04640.
