Daniel F. Grabos, Sr., age 78; beloved husband of the late Katherine J. Grabos; loving father of Megan E. Grabos and Daniel F. Grabos, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Luna and Jack Grabos; dear brother of Donna M. Monaghan; uncle of Jessica Monaghan, Kendall Monaghan and Courtney (Ryan) Felt. Brother-in-law of Margaret A. (John) Hommel, Thomas R. (Kelly Quinn) Williams, Jr. and Patricia M. (Fred) Seeholzer. Treasured companion of Lynda Miller
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank A. Grabos and Virginia (Czaplicki) Grabos, his sister, Helen Grabos and his niece, Genelle Monaghan.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Grabos earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Education from Loyola University Chicago. After an early career as a teacher and principal in the Archdiocese of Chicago Schools, he embarked on a successful career as a Human Resources executive, serving in leadership roles at some of the world's largest consumer packaged goods companies, including ConAgra Brands.
He was dedicated to his alma mater, Holy Trinity High School, and served on the school's Advisory Council, promoting excellence in education and access to scholarship opportunities for passionate youth of Chicagoland.
Memorial Visitation on Monday, April 28 at 9 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at Old St. Patrick's Church, 700 Adams St. Chicago, IL 60661. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, IL.
