Funeral Services for Daniel "Danny" Patrick Hanley, 78, of Livingston will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. from Christian Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jack White officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Danny Hanley passed away on June 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his cherished family. He was born on November 3, 1946, in Meridian, Mississippi, to John Oscar Hanley and Louise Williams Hanley. Growing up in Gainesville, he spent his entire life in Sumter County. On July 12, 1969, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Moore, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, hard work, and family. Danny was a dedicated cattleman and farmer, owning and operating his own farms. He was known for his friendly nature and made friends wherever he went. With a wonderful sense of humor, he brought laughter to those around him. A lifelong hunter, he enjoyed pursuing a variety of game, including deer, turkey, hogs, raccoons, and birds. Fishing on the Sucarnoochie River also brought him joy. Above all, his greatest love was for his family, and spending time with them was his favorite pastime. He held many titles: husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and so much more. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Suzanne Moore Hanley of Livingston; daughter, Staci Hanley Hill (Mark) of Livingston; son, Doug Hanley (Coley) of Tuscaloosa; son, Clay Hanley (Dani) of Livingston; son, Allen Smith (Jaysa) of Livingston; eight granddaughters, Harper Hanley, CeCe Hanley, Kaitlyn Allen, Halle Hanley, Bucklee Hanley, Ella Hill, Taylor Smith, and Camryn Smith; three grandsons, Jackson Smith, Bennett Smith, and Max Hill; cousin, Mary Hanley Goldman (Thad); and many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Oscar Hanley and Louise Williams Hanley; brother, John Oscar Hanley, Jr.; and sister, Jackie Hanley Henson.
Pallbearers include John House, Damon Aust, Jason Wood, Tyrell Dial, Thad Goldman, and Luke Goldman.
Honorary Pallbearers include Jim Dial, Dee Dial, David Collins, Walter Stickney, Joe Cox, Mitch Lowrey, Bill Hendricks, Kenny Larkin, Larry Dial, Michael Larkin, Paul Brachnell, Ralph Fleming, and Joe Reed.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff of Southern Care Hospice, for the support and guidance provided during this difficult time.
