It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Edward Hay, also known as Dan, on February 2, 2025, at the age of 55. A devoted son, husband, and father, Dan lived a life full of service, joy, and faith.
Dan was born on June 12, 1969, and grew up with a deep love for both family and community. He spent 30 years as a Commercial Truck Driver, later becoming a Safety Coordinator for Werner and most recently a Recruiter for Freymiller. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dan was a man who believed deeply in kindness, always willing to lend a hand or offer a joke to brighten someone's day.
A devout Christian and pastor, Dan's faith guided every part of his life. He could always be counted on for a word of encouragement or a prayer for anyone who needed it. His laughter was infectious, and his sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. He was never without a funny story or a lighthearted quip, and he never met a stranger.
Outside of work and faith, Dan had many passions, including a love for cars, motorcycles, and fishing. He cherished the moments spent enjoying the peace of God's creation. His creativity extended to silverworking and juggling, hobbies he pursued with the same enthusiasm and skill he applied to every part of his life.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Hay; children, Nathaniel Fisher, Kaitlyn Hay, Ryan Hay, and Jackson Hay; daughter-in-law, Sara Fisher; mother, Anita Hay; siblings, Roy Hay, Kim Bergquist, and Lonny Johnson; lifelong friend, Gary Dawes; godchildren, Michelle & Sylis Dawes; & many friends and family who will remember him fondly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heifer International, Operation Christmas Child, or
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; causes that were close to Dan's heart.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 22, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the legacy of a man who touched so many lives with his love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
