Daniel "Danny" Jon Irelan, age 66 of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Crestwood Care Center surrounded by family following an extended illness.
Daniel was born November 20, 1958, in Shelby, Ohio to the late Joseph and Colleen (Smith) Irelan.
He worked at Back's Roofing Constructions for many years as a roofer. Daniel loved to hunt and especially loved to fish with his nickname being "Daniel Boone". Also, he was a "scrapper of metal". Daniel was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. He particularly loved his sister, Kim's sweet treats. He will be missed by family and friends.
Those who will cherish his memories includes his children: Jeffrey (Sarah Stentz) Irelan of Shelby, Ohio, Teena (Steven Arnold) Irelan of Ashland, Ohio, Ninah Plantz of Missouri and Joe Irelan of California; his fifteen grandchildren; his three great grandchildren; his siblings: Joseph Irelan of Shelby, Ohio, Kim (Marvin) Smedley of Shelby, Ohio, Pam (Alan) Savage of Mansfield, Ohio, Jane (Archie) Smith of Mansfield, Ohio and Kathy (Forrest) Butler of Shelby, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his baby son, Jacob Chase Irelan and his sister-in-law, Carol Irelan.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later time at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in care of Sarah Stentz to go toward a headstone for Danny.
