Daniel Mark Kekich, age 69, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Fowlerville, MI. Born on June 21, 1956, Daniel, affectionately known as Dan, left behind a legacy marked by resilience, humor, and passion.
Dan graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1998, humorously noting that it took him 25 years to earn his degree. His career encompassed various roles, including a sales representative in the bicycle industry and at Western Southern Life Insurance. He was also the proud owner of Wheel Fix It Bike Shop in New Hudson, Michigan. Despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which gradually impacted his memory, vision, and mobility, Dan's indomitable spirit shone through. He retired in 2005 but continued to pursue his passions vigorously. Dan was well-known for repairing bikes in his garage and his musical talents, often seen playing guitar and singing at local coffee shop open mic nights. He also ran a hobby guitar repair business from his basement. His humor remained intact through his challenges, often quipping to healthcare providers, "It's not my fault, it's not me."
Dan's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Fowlerville, MI, on Tuesday, July 1st.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Kekich; sister, Debra Kekich; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, along with Beth's extended family. Dan was preceded in death by his father, John Kekich; mother, Frances M. Costanza; sister, Mary Ellen Thompson; and brother, Paul Michael Kekich.
Dan's enduring optimism and his ability to find joy in his passions, despite the challenges of multiple sclerosis, will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew him.
In place of flowers, donations would be appreciated at National MS Society or Michigan Humane Society.
