Daniel Redman, 84, of Sheridan, IL passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at his home in Sheridan. He was born May 24, 1941 in Girard, IL the son of Charles and Eunice Redman. He married Kathy Bright on December 16, 2016 in Lisbon, IL. Dan grew up in East Peoria and proudly joined the Marine Corps at the age of 17, serving at Camp Pendleton. Following his service, he moved to the Yorkville area finally settling in Sheridan for the last 30 happy years with his wife Kathy , in a house they built together. Dan was a talented entrepreneur starting several businesses including several area restaurants. His biggest talent was carpentry he built and remodeled many homes and businesses. In later years he enjoyed building furniture which many family members were the recipients of. His greatest love was his family, he loved spending time with his grandkids, spoiling them with popsicles, ice cream and family dinners. One of Dan’s favorite things was coffee time he loved talking with friends and meeting new people. His lively conversations will be missed. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa who will be deeply missed.
Dan is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Charles Redman; stepson, James (Kalico) Skalic; grandchildren, Daniel (Alison) Dillard, David (Blair Armstrong) Dillard, Zivana Skalic, Jaclen Redman, Alexis Redman; great grandchildren, DJ and Greyson Dillard, Brooklyn and Aubrey Armstrong; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eunice; one brother, Pat Redman; one sister, Janet Borton; and one daughter, Patricia Dillard.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 2:00 -6:00 pm at the American Legion located at 300 E Si Johnson Ave, Sheridan, IL 60551.
