Danny Gayle Fisher, 77, of Rutherford, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, July 4, 1948, in Gibson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Paul Fisher and the late Martha Sue Walls Fisher.

Danny was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a time in his life he held with great pride and honor. After his military service, Danny did plumbing and electrical before spending 38 years with Baptist Hospital in Union City, where he was a dedicated member of the maintenance department. Known for his reliability and skill, he took great pride in keeping things running smoothly for both patients and staff.

A man of simple joys, Danny loved fishing-but even more so, he loved eating the fish he caught. He and his wife especially cherished their trips to Reelfoot Lake, where they often enjoyed his favorite meal at Boyette's Restaurant. While Boyette's held a special place in his heart, Grecian's was also one of his favorite places to dine.

When he wasn't casting a line, Danny could often be found tinkering with tractors and lawn mowers, a pastime that brought him both satisfaction and peace.

In his quieter moments, he enjoyed classic westerns, especially Bonanza and Gunsmoke, which reminded him of the values he held dear-honor, loyalty, and strength of character.

Graveside services for Mr. Fisher will be held at 10:00 AM on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Walnut Grove Cemetery near Trenton, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Mr. Patrick Williams.

Family and Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sharp Fisher of Rutherford, Tennessee; three daughters, Sherry Diane Cox (Shane) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Kimberly Ann Shumate (Michael) of Newbern, Tennessee and Kristen Elizabeth Mercer (Justin) of Trenton, Tennessee; one son, Justin Ryan Sharp (Shelly) of Milan, Tennessee; one sister, Linda Sue King (Thornton) of Dyer, Tennessee; sister-in law, Doris Fisher of Dyer, Tennessee; five grandchildren, William Austin Fisher (Anna),Tanner Fisher, Brynlee Fisher, Hadley Mercer, and Sawyer Sharp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Ann Gant Fisher; one son, William Bradley Fisher and two brothers, William Paul Fisher and Sammy Eugene Fisher.
