After a brief illness, Danny Robinson, Sr. transitioned peacefully Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was 61.
Preceding him in death, his father, Willie James Jones; two cousins, Tony Bailey and Gregory Bailey, Sr.; uncle, Benjamin Bailey, Jr., maternal grandmother, Hattie M. Robinson, maternal grandfather, O.C. Evan, Sr.; paternal grandparents, A. J. and Geneva Jones; Aunts, Amy Harvey, Gennie Johnson, Annie Robinson, and Lois King.
He was born August 21, 1963, in Macon, Georgia, to the parentage of Shirley Robinson and the late Willie James Jones. He lived his first few years in Lizella, Georgia. He grew up in a home filled with love, where his aunt and uncle, Benjamin and Julie Bailey, Jr., were his other parents and his first cousins, Alfred, Julia Ann, Vanessa, Tony, and Gregory, his sisters and brothers. From those special years, he benefited greatly. This family dynamic was a positive support system throughout his life. The date of Danny's transition coincides with the 55th wedding anniversary of his mother and stepfather, Harry J. Moran. This union, on June 13, 1970, was the beginning of a new and positive shift in his family life. The family later relocated from Lizella to Macon, Georgia.
Danny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of White Springs Baptist Church in Lizella, Georgia. He received his formal education in the Bibb County Public School System. Danny graduated from Southwest High School in 1981.
He was the proud father of one son, Danny, Jr., whom he loved unconditionally. They had a loving father, son bond. Danny, Jr. held a very special place in his heart. Danny was engaged to marry an incredibly special woman, Kimberly Hill. They shared a very beautiful courtship for the past two years. Through sickness and health, in good times and bad, they remained united in love. Danny also loved and cared for Kimberly's daughters, Sydni and Ciara, as his own. He was thankful that he now had two daughters to love and help watch over.
Danny was employed at DAIKIN and part-time with Macon-Bibb Sheriff Department. He was also formerly employed at Reynolds Aluminum Building Products for many years.
From his humble beginnings in Lizella, Georgia, Danny grew to fill the roles of son, uncle, father, faithful church member, deacon, chairman, minister, pastor, and spiritual mentor. He preached his initial sermon at White Springs Baptist Church on April 14, 2012, under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Kendrick K. Mack, Sr.
Minister Robinson was called to pastor Martha Ann Baptist Church on November 11, 2020. During his tenure as Lead Shepherd of the church, Pastor Robinson experienced tremendous Spiritual and leadership growth. He oversaw a positive shift in the membership. Pastor Robinson was instrumental in the overall improvement of the Spiritual direction of the congregation and upbuilding of the physical structure of God's house.
Pastor Robinson was a great man of God. Down through the years, several pastors poured into his Spiritual journey. Three of which, Pastor Kendrick K. Mack, Reverend Benjamin Tolbert, and Elder James L. Blanding, were a constant support to his continued growth in the Lord.
Danny was an avid sports fan. He found solace and joy in his family. Danny could light up a room at family gatherings with his loving comedic playfulness with family and friends. He will be missed deeply by his family, friends, and those who knew him. His passing leaves a huge void in the family. Danny's spirit and all the great memories of him will live on in our hearts.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory, a loving son, Danny Robinson, Jr.; fiancé, Kimberly Hill and two bonus daughters, Sydni Hill and Ciara Hill; his loving and devoted parents, Shirley and Harry Moran; loving and supportive brothers and sister, Derrick Dewayne Robinson, Shonta Faulk (Raymond), Bruce Jones, Greg Jones (Kathy); his devoted aunt/Godmother, Julie Lee Bailey, devoted cousins: Alfred Bailey, Sr. (Tilda), Julia Blanding (James), Vanessa Bailey; devoted nieces and nephews: Sierra Jackson (Princess), Shawntavious Grayer, Sr., Jamesia Clay, Amaya Robinson; great nephew and niece, Shawntavious Grayer, Jr. and Kayla Mitchell; devoted cousin, Yolanda Cummings; devoted friends: Robert Harris, Robert Middleton, Dennis Terry, Emmett Bivins, Minister George Taylor; aunts and uncles: Eula Taylor, Tommy James Robinson (Brenda), Teresa Wallace, O.C.
