Louis “Darrell” Fleming, 88, of Amarillo, TX passed away October 20, 2025.

Visitation will be from 6-7:00 PM, Friday, October 24, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Anna St. Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Darrell was born January 6, 1937 in Lampasas, TX to Amos Fleming and Jewel Duzan. He grew up in Austin, TX and earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas. Darrell began as an intern at the City of Amarillo then worked for Shiver-Megert Architects for 60 years as an Architect. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, Anna St. Church of Christ, an elder at West Amarillo Church of Christ for many years and a past member of Psalms 4 Quartet. He helped with the training work music program at the church. He and Carole enjoyed participating in the Amarillo Community Choral.

Darrell loved to travel to Colorado and fix up the Stonewall Guest Ranch.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of fifty-five years, Mary Allen Fleming.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Carole Fleming of Amarillo, TX; children, Louis Darrell Fleming Jr, and wife Jacque of Andrews, TX, and Darla Fleming Bracken and husband Stuart of Amarillo, TX; Carole’s children, Lisa Conway of Amarillo, TX, Karin Synowiez and husband Scott of Virginia, and Carl Mullins and wife Laurie; grandchildren, Jessica, Stefanie, Macey, Dustin, Meri, Hannah, Ethan, Greyson, Becca, Caroline, and Kimberly; and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators Christian Relief Fund.
