Darryl Herbert Asher, 60, of Tazewell, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Tennova Turkey Creek Metro Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born LaFollette, Tennessee on March 2, 1965, along with his twin sister, Darlene. Darryl was the son of the late Oscar Herbert and Mildred Louise Riggs Asher. His family relocated to Arjay, Kentucky, where Darryl attended Lone Jack High School and played football there. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Darryl was an over the road truck driver for Mustard Seed Transportation, and he loved being a trucker.

In Addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda and two nieces, Amber and Desiree.

Survivors include his son, DJ Asher; sisters, Brenda Asher and Darlene Ellis; nephews, Casy Brown and Kenny Ellis; niece, Whitney Ellis; Uncle, Charlie Riggs and his wife, Cedell Irene; and a host of many cousins, his family in North Carolina, other family and many friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Tennova, everyone the called and messaged, and his church family members for all of their support and comfort for Darryl.

A Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with President Doug Blashill and Mr. Cordell Petz. Prayers will be given by Mr. Colleen Petz and Mrs. Heather Blashill. Music will be led by Ms. Taylor Crabtree. Cremation will follow under the care of Arnett & Steele Cremation Center in Pineville.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, which is honored to be serving the Asher family.
