David M. Acuna, 59, of Euless, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. He was born on April 11, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Ernie and Clara Acuna.
David was a proud graduate of Maryvale High School, Class of 1984, and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army overseas in Operation Desert Storm as well as the AZ Army National Guard. He had a long fulfilling career at Bank of America of over 28 years. Known for his sharp wit and a fondness for breakfast outings, David approached life with a unique blend of humor and heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Riki-Jo Acuna; his beloved daughter, Daryn Stillion; and his stepchildren, Tori Hook, Andy Hook, and Erin Hook. He is also survived by his devoted parents, Ernie and Clara Acuna; his sister, Theresa Acuna, her fiancé, Nick; and his niece, Alicia Acuna. David leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, special life-long friends and work colleagues who will miss his stories, sarcasm and sincere heart.
A memorial service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home on August 16, 2025 at 1:30 pm to celebrate David’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his honor to a veteran or cancer research foundation of your choice. Alternatively, consider treating a friend or stranger to breakfast—David would’ve liked that.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew him.
