David S. Colson, 86, of Fishers formerly of Fortville, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born May 28, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Theodore and Helen (McWilliams) Colson. Dave was a graduate of the old Fortville High School. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a machine repairman after over 35 years' service.
Dave was a member of UAW Local 1111, member of the Greenfield BASS Masters Club, the Blacksmith Association and had worked as a ramp attendant at Geist Reservoir for many years.
Dave is survived by children: Jack (Kay) Colson, Becky White, David (Melissa) Colson and Tracy (Garry) Ferrebee; grandchildren: Abigail (Itmamar) Megiddo, Emily (Jose) Martinez, Seth (Emily) Colson, Kris (Katlyn O'Brien) Slaven, Andrea (Beth Durham) Slaven, William (Nicole) Colson, Donovan (Grace) Colson, Alicia (Kyle) Burnham, D.J. Lockhart and Austin Lockhart; great-grandchildren: Cecilia, Charlotte, Ava, Sawyer, Cora, Levi, Aviv, Natalie, Thomas and Damien, brothers Bill Colson and Ned Colson and significant other Judy Coons.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Colson, his parents, listed above and brother Jack Colson.
A service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street Fortville, IN 46040.
