David Cox, 53, of Marathon, died unexpectedly Monday, June 30, 2025. He was a graduate of McGraw Central School and employee of Pall Trinity Micro Corp., Cortland. A lifelong area resident, David was an avid sports fan. He could always be found following Notre Dame or San Francisco 49ers football, NASCAR, or golf.
He is survived by his four children: Alexis (Joseph) Knight of Lowman, Nathan Cox of Lisle, Delaney and Diandra Cox of McGraw; his parents Janice and Rich Sloan of Marathon, aunts Connie (Larry) McFarland and Chris Aiken (Chris Smith); uncle Mitchel Eccleston, special friend Krista Perkins and several cousins.
David is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Richard Brown, and Robert and Mary Eccleston, as well as, his aunt Linda Eccleston of Cincinnatus.
David’s departure leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him, may the memories of his loving heart forever be cherished, serving as a reminder to appreciate every moment life has to offer.
