David or Dave, age 85, passed away July 1st 2025 in his home. He was born December 28th 1939 in Shelby, Iowa to Carl Hildebrandt and Della Dorinda Schnackel with two siblings, Flora and Eldon Hildebrandt. He is survived by his brother Eldon and his two children, Shelley Rae (Hildebrandt) Arnold and Scott Carl Hildebrandt.
While Dave will be remembered by his generous and passionate character, he also saw many accomplishments in life. From 1960 to 1966, he served in the U.S. Army, including a period stationed in the Philippines. Some time after, he worked tirelessly for the Mountain Bell telephone company and later on in life he worked for Enterprise. Dave studied at Colorado Christian University and spent time on missions trips surrounded by friends from church and enjoying religious conversation with everyone in his life. He treasured all his time spent with others and cherished talking, learning, and getting to know those he loved.
Dave was a father and grandfather who cared deeply about his family. He was a devout Christian committed to sharing his kindness and love of the Bible. Words can not express how thoughtful, generous, and considerate he was towards everyone he knew. While stubborn at times, David always had everyone's best interest in mind and would drop anything to lend a helping hand.
The funeral service will be at Horizon Christian Fellowship August 6th 5470 S Lowell Blvd, Littleton, CO 80123. A reception will be held at 9 AM and then the service at 10 AM. The burial will be held at Fort Logan national Cemetery at 11:30 AM August 6.
