David Payne Obituary

David Glen Payne, 66, of Michigan City passed away 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City. Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 07, 2024, in David's hometown of Graham, North Carolina. David was born December 17, 1957, in Graham, North Carolina, son of the late Garland Holt and Laura Betty Payne. David was retired after a career in healthcare. He had served for a short time in the United States Army. He is survived by his companion of 15 years, Betty Hallford of Michigan City; his three sons, David Matthew and wife Fran of Rives, Tenneesee, Bobby Payne of Obion, Tennessee and Brandon Payne of New Orleans, Louisiana ; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vickie Burghardt and husband Anthony of Mebane, North Carolina, Laura Delores Bennett and husband Thad of Gibsonville, North Carolina, and Christine P. Wilson of Burlington, North Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father and one sister, Susan Wray.
