David Sterl ObituaryDavid Sterl, 62, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in Mentor. Born on September 10, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio, David was a lifelong resident of Lake County
Known for his selfless and generous spirit, David brought a fun and lively energy to every gathering. He was a truly devoted father, making his children his number one priority throughout his life.
David was a proud member of the Dart Club and spent countless hours serving the community as a participant in the Euclid Jaycees. His dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on those around him.
He is survived by his loving children, Michael Sterl, Kelley Sterl, Kristen Cantrell, and Kaitlyn Sterl. David was a cherished grandfather to Jordan, Julia, Zoey, and Wesley. He also leaves behind his sister, AnneMarie Prokup; his niece and nephew, Kim (Kevin) and Danny; and his great-niece and nephew, Ashlyn and Andrew.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Andreas and Agnes (nee Schuntitsch) Sterl.
Family and friends are invited to call at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street (Rt. 615, N. of Rt. 2), Mentor, OH, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Bede Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Father Tim Plavac will officiate. Following the service, David will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, OH.
