Graveside services for Mr. David Paul Thompson will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2025, with Dr. Dan Lanier officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Thompson, 86, of Meridian, died Friday, July 4, 2025, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS following a brief illness.
David was an avid gun enthusiast; he loved traveling to gun shows and was known for his vast knowledge of Colt handguns. David retired after a nearly life-long career as Plant Manager of Cooper Steel in Greenville, MS. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing. He was a Christian and loved serving the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa.
David is survived by his children, David Thompson (Jamie), Kathy Thompson, and Don Thompson(Michelle); grandchildren, Hannah Thompson (Josh), Alison Redman (Brad), and Laura Thompson; his great-grandson, Shane Redman; his sisters, Gale Thompson, Nancy Thompson (Mike), and Jean Parr (Larry); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
David is preceded in death by his wife of over 61 years, Carol Thompson; and his parents Ray and Norma Thompson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Graham "Grumpy" Gray, Johnny Baughmann, Ron Carson, Dwayne McCrary, Junior Mangum, Terry Tudor, and Chuck Cage.
