David Neal Vance, age 57 years, a resident of Whitmer, WV, passed peacefully in his sleep, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at his home.

He was born Wednesday, April 17, 1968, at Harman, WV, a son of the late Richard David Vance and Olivia Faye Montoney Vance.

Surviving are two brothers, Terry Allen Vance of Whitmer, and Paul Eugene Vance and wife Denise and their daughter, Jennifer Miller all of Cabins; two sisters, Cindy Lucille Sponaugle and husband Leonard of Whitmer, and Kathy Christine Ketterman-Watson and husband Roger of Belington; four nephews, Anthony Sponaugle, Joshua Vance, Zachary Ketterman, and Bryan Vance, two great nephews, Lance Adamson and Dustin Sponaugle; one niece, Andrea Adamson; one great niece, Emily Sponaugle; significant other, Kelsey Jeffries; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was a graduate of Harman High School with the Class of 1986. He was a Recreation Manager and Ski Area Mountain Manager at Canaan Valley Resort for over forty years. He was a Pentecostal by faith and was a member of the NRA. David was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hiking and photography. He loved playing music and collecting records. He led many mountain hikes at Canaan Valley Resort. David enjoyed being with his family tremendously. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday, August 3, 2025. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11 AM. Pastor Steve Wymer will officiate and interment will follow at the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Whitmer, WV.
