Deanna Cress Obituary

Morristown: Deanna Cress, age 74, of Morristown, gained her Heavenly wings on July 11, 2025. Deanna was a dietician aid at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital for 18 years before retiring. She was an avid reader with a vast library of books. Deanna was a big personality in a small package. She was courageous, inspirational, loving and caring. She was a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished through determination and persistence despite her many challenges. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Elmes and Cordie Carroll, siblings, Oma Johnson, Bruce Carroll and infant, Sarah Carroll; granddaughter, Madeline Marie Standifer.
Deanna is survived by her daughters, Susie (Tracy) Johnson, April Goins and Crystal (Laura) Hatton; grandchildren, Devin and Kohl Johnson, Felicity Tomlinson, Jacob Standifer and Jason Whittemore; great-grandchildren, Shelton and Dexter Tomlinson and Sarah Seay; sister, Lorraine Carroll and special friend, Tommy Brown; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Jesse Doers and nurses in CCU at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.
Visitation hours will be 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Cemetery, Sneedville.
