Deanna Rose Meeshenow, "Mindimooyeh" which means "Elder Woman Who Holds Everything Together With Her Hands", age 53, of Minneapolis, MN, surrounded by her family, journeyed to the spirit world on Tuesday July 22, 2025, from North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.

She was born on December 6, 1971, in Morris Manitoba Canada to Violet (Feather) and Scott Meeshenow, Sr. Deanna attended the Bug School growing up. In the 90's, she left the Cass Lake area for a new life in Minneapolis. Deanna loved to travel and had been to numerous states around the US. She loved dancing at pow wows and being a grandma to her grandbabies.

The family who welcomed Deanna to the spirit world are her parents Scott and Violet; daughter Dena Meeshenow; sister Marilyn Feather; brother Scott Meeshenow, Jr.; father-in-law Harold Jones; great-niece Illiana Littlewolf; nephews Ashton and Michael Littlewolf, son in law Tonio Weaver, and stepfather Fred White.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons Daniel McKenzie Jr. of Mahnomen, Baby Florentino of St. Paul; daughters Roberta McKenzie of Mahnomen, Danielle McKenzie of Mahnomen, Marissa Feather of New Jersey; siblings Robert (Barb) Meeshenow of Red Lake, Roberta Meeshenow of Cass Lake, Lea Roy of Minneapolis, Amy (Steve)Weliver of Waterloo IA, Meg Tangherlini of Shakopee, Theodore (Darla) Russell of Apple Valley; mother-in-law Roberta Jones; special friend Daniel McKenzie, Sr.; fourteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.

A wake will begin on Sunday July 27,2025 at 12:00 pm and continue until her traditional service on Monday July 28, 2025, at 10:00 am all being held at the Old Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Her Spiritual Advisor will be Allen Hardy. Those laying her to rest will be Robert Meeshenow, Theodore Russell, Tonio McKenzie, Jonathon Tangherlini, Danny McKenzie, Jr., Scott Roy, Sr., Elias Miranda, Dominic Meeshenow, Sr. and Lydell Feather. Her honorary pallbearers are her children, siblings and grandkids. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN following her services.
