Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island, 17315 Lionel Road, Abbeville, Louisiana for Deborah L. Cameron, 70, who passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at her home in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Father Ted Broussard will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. The burial will take place in the Hebert Family Cemetery on Sweetbay Road, Southwest of Perry, LA.

Ms. Cameron was the daughter of the late Kenneth Eugene Cameron of Alapaha, Georgia and the former Helen Hebert of Abbeville, LA. Debbie joined the Air Force in 1977 and spent nearly five years as a cryptographic communications maintenance and support. Debbie’s military career was marked with numerous deployments around the world, where she was responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the most sophisticated and advanced encryption technology of the time, and was honorably discharged in 1981. In the private sector, she worked in defense with the Hughes Aircraft Corporation before moving on to the trucking industry, where she was a successful account manager for many years.

Debbie found her dream haven in Tennessee when she moved for employment in 1997, where she had enough land for horses, dogs, and chickens. She was passionate about dressage and competed for many years. She was a master gardener and learned about steam canning and freeze-drying food during Covid.

Debbie is survived by her sister, Bonnie Trahan LeBlanc and husband, Errol J. LeBlanc of Abbeville, LA; one brother, Gregory J. Cameron Sr. and wife, Angel C. Cameron; nieces and nephews, Gregory J. Cameron Jr, Ashley C. Webb and husband, Matthew Webb, Meagan E. Cameron, and Zachary C. Trahan and wife, Dusty Simonson; great nephew and nieces, Trason Cameron, Noah Webb, Bonnie Grace Webb, and Bailey Trahan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David R. Cameron, and William E. Cameron; her paternal grandparents, Bonnie and Jack Cameron of Alapaha, GA; and her maternal grandparents, Leonie and Clemille Hebert of Abbeville, LA.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Anne’s Church of Cow Island, LA from 9:00 AM until the rosary at 11:00 AM. The funeral mass will begin at 11:30 AM.

The Family wishes to thank Debbie’s friends who helped her siblings and in-laws care for her with unwavering love and support during this difficult time.
