Deborah Lynn Gardner, a dedicated educator and cherished member of her community, passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 73 in Bedford, Trimble County, Kentucky. Born on November 9, 1951, in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, Deborah's journey through life was marked by her passion for teaching and the unwavering love of her family.

Deborah dedicated a significant portion of her professional life to the field of education, primarily teaching Special Education at Kathryn Winn Elementary School. Her commitment to her students was evident in her role as a passionate advocate for their needs. She ultimately served as the District Director of Special Education at Carroll County Middle School, where she played a vital role in shaping educational policies and programs that would benefit countless children.

A lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church, Deborah found comfort and inspiration in her faith, which guided her through both her personal and professional endeavors.

In her spare time, she loved to read and especially loved children's books. She always felt a sense of peace while working in the garden and raising many outdoor plants.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Michael Wayne Gardner of Bedford, KY, and her three daughters, Brittany S. Ford of Louisville, KY, Kristen M. (Jim) O'Neill of Bedford, KY, and Lauren C. Gardner of Bedford, KY. She was a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, Addison R. Ford and Elliot M. Ford. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Connie Sue Aldridge of Bedford, KY.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Oscar Aldridge and Thelma Louise Westrick Aldridge, who undoubtedly laid the foundation for her compassionate nature and commitment to education.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Carrollton.  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Mass immediately following. Her final resting place will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carroll County Food Pantry or Carroll County Animal Clinic in care of the funeral home.

The legacy of Deborah Lynn Gardner will continue through the lives she touched as an educator, a devoted family member, and a compassionate friend. Her contributions to the field of Special Education and her enduring love for her family will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
