Deborah Darlene Robbins, 71 of Greensburg, passed away at 9:44 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at her residence. Deborah grew up in Portland, Indiana. She was very active in her school and community. She was always loved by those who met her. She moved to Greensburg, Indiana, in 1972. She met Gary in October. They began dating, and four short months later, they were married on January 26, 1973. Eager to start their family they had their first daughter, Gina, on November 11, 1973, and their second daughter Elisha August 21, 1975. She always enjoyed being active in the girls' lives. She was the girls' leader of their Brownie/Girl Scout group. She loved to watch and even helped coach with her husband the girls' softball teams over the years. The girls were active in many other sports where she was their biggest cheerleader, rarely missing a game. She was also very active throughout the years supporting her husband who played and umpired men's softball. She was the scorekeeper for the men's softball diamond throughout the years there. When she became a grandma to 5 five grandkids it didn't stop her from being right there cheering them all on over the years from cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, and football didn't matter the sport she was at almost all of their games. The love for her family was never-ending. She made every holiday so special for her family. So many memories have been created over the years. Christmas was always her favorite. She always made sure they all grew up knowing the true meaning of Christmas. She enjoyed spending Christmas Eve in church surrounded by its true purpose and meaning. She also enjoyed decorating for it. Their house always looked so beautiful from her trees to the mantle on the fireplace. Once all decorated, she enjoyed having a cup of hot chocolate while watching Christmas shows. They would all gather to make cookies and candies every year for Christmas.
Gary and Deborah weren't money builders they were memory builders. They made sure throughout the years to take their kids and grandkids on special vacations. Deborah enjoyed taking Gina and Elisha on weekend mother/daughter trips. They took Gina and Elisha on a family vacation to Opryland, Tennessee when they were younger. They took the entire family to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The kids and grandkids were so surprised and lots of memories made. The last vacation Gary and Deborah went on spring break of 2024 to Panama City with Elisha, Shea, Jayla, Wyatt, and Gina. She wanted to see the ocean one more time. To our dad's wife, our Mother, our Grandmother, and our Great Grandmother in heaven, thank you for always loving us and guiding us. Even though you are no longer here with us I can still feel your love guiding us. You are always in our hearts. We will love you and miss you dearly. This isn't a goodbye this is until we meet again. Following her wishes she will be cremated, and an entombment will follow at South Park Cemetery at a later date. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to Greensburg First Baptist Church through the funeral home. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.bassgasper.com
