Debra "Deb" Kay Huffaker, 67, of Newton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center. A private family burial will be held in the Union Cemetery in Newton, Iowa.
Deb was born on October 18, 1955, to Samuel and Margaret (Samuels) Boston, in Newton, Iowa. She grew up in Newton where she graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1973. Deb married Neil Huffaker in Newton and the couple resided there where they raised their family together. Deb worked at Banker's Life as a file clerk for over 25 years. Deb loved spending time with her family and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and MASH.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Neil Huffaker; children Michael (Roxanne) Huffaker, Jodi Walter, and Dustin (Lynn) Huffaker; grandchildren Brady, Samantha, and Hannah; sisters Dee Bower and Dixie; brothers-in-law David (Michelle) Huffaker and Steward (Heike) Huffaker; and sister-in-law Carla (Roy) Tomlin.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Margaret, her father-in-law Harlan Huffaker Sr., mother-in-law Marge Sanders, and brother-in-law Harlan LuVerne Huffaker Jr.
Memorial contributions may be directed to her family.
