Deen McDonald, 93, of Lubbock, was gently lifted into heaven to join her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Deen was born on November 21, 1931, in Anadarko, Caddo County, Oklahoma, to the late Maurice C. Williams and Mary Ellen Williams.
She was educated in the Washita, Oklahoma public schools and graduated from Washita High School in 1949.
Deen met the love of her life, Marvin McDonald, and they were united in marriage on July 24, 1949, in Springer, New Mexico. Out of this union, they were blessed with four wonderful children, Mike, Jeanie, Ellen and Johnny. Mr. McDonald preceded her in death on July 25, 1976.
Deen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who held family closely to her heart, especially her grandkids. She was a dedicated homemaker, in addition to working as a bookkeeper for Barrington Pumps in Lamesa. She retired from Barrington Pumps in 1990. Deen was a long time member of Sweet Street Baptist Church in Tahoka.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her children: Mike McDonald and wife Trish of Winder, Georgia, Jeanie Faught of Stephenville, Texas, Ellen Fant and husband Ron of Lubbock and Johnny McDonald and wife Timmie of Lubbock; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Deen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, three sisters, her son-in-law Lamarvin Faught and daughter-in-law Charlene McDonald.
Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 1:45 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Sweet Street Baptist Church in Tahoka, 1300 Avenue J. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Final rites and interment will be in the Tahoka Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.
The pallbearers will be David McDonald, Joe McDonald, Johnny McDonald, Randy Fant, Mark Fant and Chris Faught. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Fant, Shaun Fant, Darren Harvey, David Harvey and Dean Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, Deen’s family requests that you prayerfully consider donating to High Point Village, 6223 CR 6300, Lubbock, TX 79416.
