Deena Alycia Adado passed away peacefully in her home on June 24th, 2025. She was surrounded by her loved ones who cherished every moment with her.
Deena was born on October 15th, 1967 in Lansing, Michigan to Steve and Devon Kosloski. She grew up with many close cousins and friends, being named the 'Queen of the monkey bars." Whether it was bowling, listening to Fleetwood Mac, or skiing up north, Deena had a love for life and an infectious laugh that made everyone want to be around her.
Deena graduated in 1985 from Everett High School, and went on to attend Lansing Community College where she earned her degree in interior design.
In 1997, she gave birth to her daughter Stephanie, and in 2000 she had a daughter named Cassidy. She was the most loving and selfless mother, and did everything to make sure she gave her children the best life possible.
Deena started her career at Ingham County Health Department and among her many accomplishments she created a back to school fair that provided backpacks and school supplies to underprivileged kids. She ended her career at the State of Michigan as an executive secretary, and every year she'd help print the Newsboys newspaper. Her passion for helping people was inspiring, and gave them hope.
In 2020, Deena became a grandma to Myles, and she looked forward to sleepovers and playing cars with him any chance she could. Her favorite place was to be on her beautiful porch, laughing and swapping stories with her cousins, aunts and uncles. Everyone who knew her knew how determined and strong willed she was, and after being diagnosed with cancer in 2018, that never stopped her from living her best life, it only gave her more of a reason to extend kindness and empathy to others and herself. She still traveled (a LOT) and worked, and had the most positive attitude equivalent to a human sunshine. If Deena was ever in pain, you never knew it. She persevered until her last breath, without any complaint.
The advice and values she instilled in her daughter's lives will never cease to exist, and although we will miss her, she will always live within the hearts of everyone who knew her and loved her. Her spirit was larger than life.
She is survived by her daughters Stephanie and Cassidy, mother Devon Kosloski, brother Dirk Kosloski, grandson Myles, and nephew Korrey. She is preceded in death by her father Steve Kosloski, who is reunited with her in heaven, as well as many aunts and uncles and cousins.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday June 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Cathedral, Lansing. Visitation will be held on Friday June 27, 2025 at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt Chapel from 2:00-8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday at the church at 9:00 AM until the time of service.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I worked with Deena at the Health department. She was always a joy to me and many others as she was one of the first persons we'd see in the morning and throughout the day. Her love for her family was her number one priority. She was so proud of her daughters!
Her smile and sense of humor was a delight. I loved picking on her (not going to lie). I'd gross her out by talking about hair in food and stuff. She was always a good sport about it.
When I had a surgery many years ago I wrote a "just in case" letter for her to hold onto. When I got back to work, she handed it back to me and said "See, I told you that you'd get it back".
I remember when my Mom and I would do her Christmas gift wrapping for her, as she claimed she wasn't good at it. She made us feel so happy because of the job we did.
One of the things that stood out to me was her love of interior design. She was so happy when she got to work on the home renovation show for a family in Holt. She had an eye for design! I can't say enough about how much she was loved by everyone.
I know she will be missed by many, many people.
