Delania Lee Byrd was born to James and Velma Auldridge in Dallas, Texas as the middle child on April 28, 1959. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on June 27, 2025. Delania married Barry Byrd on June 14, 1986 in Frisco, Texas, and they enjoyed 31 years together.
She was an outstanding caregiver and willingly provided loving care to both her husband Barry and at the same time her father-in-law, Cecil Byrd. Barry died on September 30, 2017 and her father-in-law died March 26, 2018. Later she moved in with her parents to take care of their daily needs.
Delania's big heart at one time, included dogs, and she was a wonderful "Dog Mom". She was a collector of Indian art, figurines, and paintings, as she was a registered member of the Choctaw tribe. She really enjoyed attending drag races in Ennis, Texas. She had a long career with Subway and excelled in customer relations. Delania was dependable and hard-working. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband Barry Byrd; father-in-law, Cecil Byrd.
She is survived by her parents, James and Velma (Slayton) Auldridge; sister, Renee Burton; brother, James "Ben" Auldridge; an extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are with Mullican-Little Funeral Home Bells, Texas. An online registry may be signed at www.mullicanlittle.com
