DELORES VEDEN 10/12/1931 - 07/16/2025 Delores Eleanor "Dee" Veden, 93, of Granite Falls passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Avera Care Center in Granite Falls. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 1 p.m. at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Arrangements with Wing-Bain Funeral Home. Delores Eleanor "Dee" Veden was born on October 12, 1931, in Granite Falls to Arthur and Cora Beito. She was baptized at Stony Run Lutheran Church and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church. She attended Asbury Country School and graduated from Granite Falls High School. On January 13, 1951, Delores was united in marriage to Vernon "Bud" Veden at Saron Lutheran Church. Together, they raised two children, Bradley and Cindy. Over the years, Delores held various positions including dental assistant, working with Yellow Medicine and Chippewa Historical Societies, Deb's Supper Club, and Granite Falls Manor. She also worked alongside her husband in road construction as a dump checker and flag girl. And was a dedicated volunteer to American Cancer Society. Delores and Bud shared a passion for horses and spent many years showing with Lee-Mar Riders. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed competing in the National Bowling Tournament for many years. Dee found joy in a game of rummy, burger nights at the American Legion, embroidering dishtowels and her go-to drink was a brandy and water. She had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humor and a spark that never dimmed. Beneath her toughness was a very loyal heart and love for her family that ran deep. Dee's spark and spirit left a mark on everyone who knew her. Delores passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025. She was 93 years of age. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Brad (Nuscia) Veden of Delano; grandchildren: Travis (Andrea), Kyle (Cara), Allison (Eric), and Callie (Tyler); great-grandchildren: Vincent, Hunter, Camille, Kade, Case, and Finn; sister-in-law Penny Beito; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; daughter, Cindy Pedersen; granddaughter, Kari; and brothers, Roger and Jimmy Beito.
