Delta Varnell Kovach, of Albany, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Albany, Louisiana, at the age of 71. She was born on Monday, May 17, 1954, in Winnfield, Louisiana. Delta was a beautiful woman inside and out. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and husband of 52 years, Frank, as well as all who knew her for her kind heart and her exceptional cooking and baking skills. Throughout her life, Delta held different professional roles, such as a dental receptionist, a secretary for a bank and a real estate firm, a church secretary, a substitute teacher and a billing clerk for the Livingston Parish school system from where she retired. Along with her many other skills, Delta loved to fish and could do so with the best of them. Whether it was perch jerking, fly fishing, salt water fishing, or catfishing, she could hold her own with a fishing pole and loved fishing with her grandson, Dylan. Delta loved her grandchildren, known to them as Grammie. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter across the country to dance competitions for her granddaughter, Annabelle. She was a faithful and active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 40 years.
The family would like to thank the ladies from St. Joseph Hospice for the special care they gave Delta over the last months of her life. Also, a special thank you to Cari, Vanessa, Jamie, Annie, Sheri, and Cindy for the care and compassion that they gave Delta.
