Demetris Rene Wells Jr., affectionately known as "Puff," was born on October 23, 1977,
as the eldest of two sons to the union of the late Demetris Rene Wells Sr. and Evone
Wells. He transitioned to his place in the Kingdom on June 3, 2025.
Demetris graduated from Leroy High School in 1995 and subsequently obtained a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban Planning from Alabama A&M University in 2000.
His commitment to Alabama A&M and other historically Black colleges and universities
(HBCU) was the hallmark of his life. During his time at AAMU, he expressed his
dedication to community as Prince Hall Mason and brotherhood by pledging to the
Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity Huntsville Alumni Chapter.
Demetris was a natural entrepreneur, co-founder of Five and Six Solutions, a creative
consulting firm specializing in digital solutions. He is known as the first official Uber
driver in the McIntosh, AL community.
From a young age, Demetris made a commitment to serve God and was a member of
St. Paul Baptist Church in McIntosh, AL. His dedication to both his work and his faith
reflects his courageous character and jovial personality.
Demetris Rene Wells, Jr. was preceded in death by his father Demetris Rene, Sr.;
grandparents, William Z. and Julia A. Wells; Grandfather Frank Zachery and uncles,
Theodis Wells and Ronnie Zachery.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Evone Zachery Wells; one brother
William Z. (Cindy) Wells, III.; raised as brothers, Marshall OD (Bianca) Davis, Jr.;
grandmother, Virginia Zachery; two nephews, Gabriel and Garrison Wells; five nieces,
Elaina, Emsley, Ellyson, Everlyn, and Eden Wells; three aunts, Valencia (Greg) Wells-
Milligan, Dora (Robert) Barrett, Sarah (Sidney) Solomon; four uncles, Gregory (Debra)
Wells, Frank, Roy (Beverly), and Leroy Zachery; special and dear to his heart Godson,
as he referred to as "3 Man" - Marshall O Davis, III.; step-father Melvin Whisenhunt;
devoted friends, Trillo and Guyon Shipman, Lamont "Chief" Martin, Eric Jackson, Willie
Boyd, Terrence Skanes and Jason Marshall, ; a host of cousins, fraternity brothers,
masonic brothers, God Siblings, other relatives and friends.
